Feature Development: Platform Notification
Developed a feature from 0-1 that supported platform notifications to clinicians and other research staff.
I spearheaded the development of a pivotal new feature within Koneksa Health's configurable clinical research platform, aimed at enhancing remote patient data collection and health data visualization for informed health researcher decision-making. This feature is a robust notification system designed to alert clinicians and research staff about patient non-compliance in ongoing studies, ensuring timely outreach and patient support to maintain high data quality for any clinical research project implemented on our platform.
To achieve this, we integrated our platform with Courier, an all-in-one product notification platform for developers that offers an API for emails, SMS, web, and mobile push notifications. This integration streamlined the notification process and provided a scalable solution for delivering critical alerts to the appropriate study staff in real time.
The feature was meticulously set up to pave the way for future notifications, including alerts related to data quality issues based on raw patient responses to ePRO and health measures completed on mobile devices. It also includes account support notifications to study staff, enabling preemptive action if a patient encounters login issues or experiences low device battery.
Our system employs a subscription model to ensure that only relevant personnel receive notifications pertaining to specific patients, aligning with the need for targeted communication in clinical research settings. Furthermore, we implemented specific logic to trigger notifications based on diverse study methodologies configured within our platform, ensuring flexibility and adaptability across various research projects.
This innovative notification system not only enhances patient support and data quality but also underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that empower health researchers and drive advancements in healthcare research and innovation.
